What are Natruba toys made of?
All of Natruba’s toys are ethically handmade on a small factory in Sri Lanka and
made of natural rubber sustainably harvested from Sri Lankan Hevea trees, entirely safe for children. Natural rubber is biodegradable, eco-friendly and non-toxic. The quality of natural rubber, besides its naturalness, is its flexibility, and the texture of it is soft and bouncy which makes it a fantastic material for little ones to play with and soothe and chew on. What kind of paint is used on Natruba products?
We use plant dyes and food grade dyes when hand-painting our products; these are completely safe for your child to chew on. Colors may vary and may fade or
disappear over time, as these are plant- or food grade dyes and biodegradable as well. To protect the colors from fading, we recommend keeping the product in a clean, dry place, out of direct sunlight. Our products guarantee you a natural and safe product, no plastic, no synthetics, and no harmful chemicals. Read much more here.
Is natural rubber safe for my child?
Yes, natural rubber is natural and non-toxic. You will not find any PVC, BPA,
Phthalates or Nitrosamines. It is furthermore highly hygienic and biodegradable. All Natruba products are even mold free, as there are no holes in any of our designs, which prevents bacteria and mold from growing inside our products.
Allergic reactions due to natural rubber may occur but are extremely rare. However, be aware of any allergic reactions, and stop any use of the toy if an allergic reaction occurs.
All our products are independently tested by well-known laboratories and go
through several quality checks and tests and meets all requirements & standards in Europe, US, Canada, and Australia & New Zealand, such as EN71, REACH, ASTM F963-17, ISO 8124, AS/NZS 8124. We use an international, well-known company for lab-analyses and a Danish product safety specialist consulting firm, to ensure that all our products comply with all applicable laws.
Natural rubber is extremely flexible and durable but always check before use that
the toy is in good condition, by pulling the various parts of the toy and check that it is still in good condition. If there are splits or cracks it should be discarded. Adult supervision is recommended at all times.
Can I freeze it?
We do not recommend freezing our products as it may damage the natural rubber.
How do I clean the toy?
You can use mildly soaped water and a damp cloth to clean the toy. Do not use a
dishwasher or sterilize in a microwave oven as it might damage the natural rubber. We recommend cleaning the toys before first use.
How do I store the toys?
We recommend drying the toys after use and keeping them in a dry and clean place, out of direct sunlight to protect the toys and make them last longer.
How do I dispose of Natruba products?
All our products are made from natural rubber. Natural rubber is a natural product
and is biodegradable and will naturally decompose over time. All Natruba products can, in theory, be disposed of as organic waste, but we recommend disposing of it responsively according to your country’s waste policies.
